Cruise no fly from Southampton with P&O Cruises aboard Adonia, a 'child free' smaller and more intimate ship.

Get off the well beaten track!

The 710 passenger ship Adonia joined the P&O fleet in May 2011 and in 2016 was given a re-fresh. She is a small ship and her size enables her to visit off the beaten track destinations and lesser known ports of call.

Back for 2017!
Adonia retuns to the P&O fleet in June 2017 for her summer season before heading off to the Caribbean for a fly/cruise winter season. In January 2016 Adonia was given a re-fresh which included adding lighter fabrics and soft furnishings to give the ship a lighter, brighter look.

'Olly Smith's The Glass House' pictured left, was also incorporated into her design.

Adonia offers an intimate atmosphere and sense of camaraderie that comes with a smaller ship.

The decor is timelessly elegant with its rich colours and dark wood panelling harking back to ships of yesteryear.

The wood-panelled Anderson's Bar boasts comfy chairs and an old-fashioned feel.

The Crow's Nest is a light and airy space featuring floor-ceiling windows allowing for superb panoramic views.

The venue is often used for a variety of purposes including as a dance floor, stage for live music; hosts art classes, quiz games and cooking demos during the day.

More about the Adonia cruise experience:

With a history dating back to the 1830's, you could almost say that P&O invented cruising.

Building on this heritage with a strong commitment to innovation, P&O Cruises is proud to hold the title of Britain's leading cruise line.

Aimed exclusively at the British market, you are guaranteed to feel at home wherever you may be in the World.

Exclusively for adults, Adonia offers an intimate atmosphere and sense of camaraderie that comes with a smaller ship.

Not a new ship, she started out originally as one of the R8 ships built by Renaissance Cruises.

Swan Hellenic also owned the ship for a while, sailing as the Minerva II before she was transferred to Princess Cruises as the Royal Princess.

Adonia's style of decor is best described as a floating country house hotel.

The decor is timelessly elegant with its rich colours and dark wood panelling harking back to ships of yesteryear.

For entertainment, Adonia has eight bars, including P&O Cruises signature ‘Crow’s Nest’ observation lounge; Andersons, the familiar club-style lounge bar; and Raffles, which also offer a coffee shop menu throughout the day with pastries, chocolates, hot drinks and afternoon tea.

Adonia also features The Curzon Lounge, where passengers can enjoy a drink with a sea view during the day, and by night enjoy a performance by the Headliners theatre company, concerts, dancing, or after dinner speakers.

There is also the signature Oasis Spa, offering a range of treatments and therapies such as hot stone massages and body scrubs, Aromatherapy, and reflexology. Plus a well equipped gym with panoramic sea views.

Adonia celebrates all those things, regular P&O passengers love about cruising with them – a classic dance floor, Crow’s Nest observation lounge, formal nights, classical music recitals, guest speakers, silver service dining and a dedicated card room.

Loyal cruisers and those new to cruising alike will be charmed by the refined P&O Cruises experience that Adonia offers.”

Adonia’s cruises also feature ‘Spotlight’ – a new programme of events for passengers wanting to learn a skill, develop their knowledge or find hobbies. Talks and interactive workshops are offered on subjects such as history, current affairs, the natural world, dance, art and gastronomy. All are delivered by experts in their field, some including familiar TV personalities.
