Cruise no fly from Southampton with P&O Cruises aboard Adonia, a 'child free' smaller and more intimate ship.

Bon Voyage Adonia !

P&O Cruises can confirm that it has signed contracts for the sale of its 30,277 ton ship Adonia. The sale will be completed in March 2018 and Adonia's last cruise as a P&O Cruises ship will be D804 leaving Barbados on February 23 and ending in Barbados on March 9, 2018.

Farewell Adonia !
P&O Cruises SVP Paul Ludlow said:
“During her time with us Adonia has captured the hearts of many thousands of P&O Cruises guests. She has ventured into new ports of call around the globe and has negotiated Icelandic Fjords, European rivers and Caribbean coves. We will ensure that these discovery itineraries are continued on other ships in the fleet."

Adonia offers an intimate atmosphere and sense of camaraderie that comes with a smaller ship.

The decor is timelessly elegant with its rich colours and dark wood panelling harking back to ships of yesteryear.

Adonia retains her beautiful library with a faux fireplace and trompe d'oeil ceiling originally commissioned by Renaissance Cruise Company - the ships original owner.

A perfect place to escape with comfortable chairs, the library’s extensive collection of books covers everything from the latest fiction to travel books.

The wood-panelled Anderson's Bar boasts comfy chairs and an old-fashioned feel.

At the nearby Raffles & Coffee Bar you can purchase hand-made chocolates, cakes and specialty coffee.

Anderson's Bar and Raffles are popular for pre and post dinner drinks, because of their proximity to the Pacific Restaurant.

The Crow's Nest is a light and airy space featuring floor-ceiling windows allowing for superb panoramic views.

The venue is often used for a variety of purposes including as a dance floor, stage for live music; hosts art classes, quiz games and cooking demos during the day.

The Pacific Restaurant is the main restaurant on Adonia situated aft on the Prom Deck.

Included in your cruise fare, this restaurant offers open-seating for breakfast and lunch, as well as fixed-seating dinner in two sittings at 6.30pm and 8.30pm.

There are tables for 2 (on request), 4, 6 and 8.

Ocean Grill is Marco Pierre White's select dining restaurant open for dinner between 6:00 & 10:00 p.m by reservation-only and serves fresh, modern British cuisine.

The restaurant also doubles up as a Breakfast venue for suite guests only.

Opposite on the port side, you will find 'Olly Smith's The Glass House', formerly Sorrentos.

Sample Accommodation:

Air-conditioned balcony cabins have two lower beds that can be converted to a queen-size bed. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors lead to a balcony with recliner chairs and table.

Adonia’s well appointed cabins feature Egyptian cotton linen, tea and coffee making facilities popular with British passengers.

Bathrooms have a shower, sink and toilet.

Every cabin has a sofa or chair, table, writing desk, TV, radio, telephone, refrigerator, tea/coffee-making facilities, a hair dryer, and a safe.

Outside cabins are the perfect balance between comfort and economy.

All outside cabins have either a window or a porthole.

Most Adonia staterooms are 215-sq.foot Balcony rooms (248). There are a total of 356 staterooms in 20 categories. The largest aboard Adonia are the Penthouse Suites (930 ft2).

Adonia's smaller size and child free status makes her attractive to the older P&O Cruises passenger market who are more interested in the destination that the ships facilities.

Entertainment is a little more low key compared to some ships and cabins, particuarly the bathrooms are smaller too!
