Cruise from Southampton (UK) with P&O Cruises aboard Adonia a 'child-free' more intimate ship

P&O Cruises celebrates 175 Years in 2012 With a history dating back to the 1830's, you could almost say that P&O invented cruising.

Building on this heritage with a strong commitment to innovation, P&O Cruises is proud to hold the title of Britain's leading cruise line.

Aimed exclusively at the British market, you are guaranteed to feel at home wherever you may be in the World.

The 710 passenger ship Adonia joined the fleet in May 2011. She is a small ship and her size enables her to visit off the beaten track destinations and lesser known ports of call.

Exclusively for adults, Adonia offers an intimate atmosphere and sense of camaraderie that comes with a smaller ship.

Not a new ship, she started out originally  as one of the R8 ships built by Renaissance Cruises.

Swan Hellenic also owned the ship for a while, sailing as the Minerva II before she was transferred to Princess Cruises as the Royal Princess.

Adonia's style of decor is best described as a floating country house hotel.

The decor is timelessly elegant with its rich colours and  dark wood panelling harking back to ships of yesteryear.
